As some of you know, Trello is a great project management tool. It’s simple to use, flexible to your needs and the interface is very intuitive. Not to mention the great mobile apps and don’t get us started about their stickers 😉
But, after using it for a while we hit a snag: we were finding it hard if not impossible to view cards across multiple Trello boards.
So naturally, being developers we didn’t let that stop us.
We jumped right in and coded up a solution that is a surprisingly small amount of code, but still allows you to view multiple cards spread across several boards. The results were amazing. Instead of developers getting overloaded on a a day to day basis , our solution allowed them to be more productive and effective in the work they signed up to do.
Not as many missed deadlines or unhappy “standup” meetings was just one of the things we found to be a benefit to doing this.
One last note: this recap stems from interest in this earlier blog post so thank you to the folks who commented and prompted us to clean up the code and share it. I had worked to integrate Trello with Liquid Planner (our pm tool of choice) but that didn’t come to fruition so rolled things back to make it easier to share here.
There are setup instructions in the Readme file. It is extremely simple!
